Indigo Velvet are Ones to Watch at Forth 1 Awards

It’s battle of the bands this weekend as Forth 1’s One To Watch Awards returns to the capital for another year.

This time around, The Liquid Rooms on Victoria Street will play host to the final of the grassroots competition; with radio DJ Mark Martin at the reins. The unsigned act who wins the title on Saturday night will earn themselves airtime on Forth 1, along with a headline show at the Edinburgh club.

One of the four hopefuls fighting for the prize is indie pop quartet Indigo Velvet. Comprising of guitarist Jason Tucker, bassist Laurie Adam, drummer Billy McMahon and singer Darren Barclay, the band has had an eventful debut year performing at venues up and down the country and with 2 of their tracks gaining status as XFM’s Breakout Records of the Week.

Despite the whirlwind of recognition they have been receiving, the boys have remained focused and have been working hard in the studio in preparation for the big night.

Speaking to EN4 News, the band explained  their plans for their set and what fans can expect to hear on the night:

Other acts set to play the final are The Indos, Dean Chalmers, Sienna and last year’s winner Megan D.

Tickets for the event are priced at £5 and are available via Ticket Scotland.
