Sheffield United have allowed former player and convicted rapist Ched Evans to return to training after his release from jail. 150,000 people signed a petition addressed to Sheffield United Chairman Kevin McCabe asking for Ched Evans not to be reinstated as a Sheffield United player.

Former Manchester United manager David Moyes has taken charge at Spanish club Real Sociedad. The 51 year-old Scot was sacked as Manchester United manager in April after less than a year in charge. Moyes took over from Sir Alex Ferguson and struggled to maintain the success of the club.

Andy Murray faces a must-win match at the ATP World Tour Finals in London tonight against Canadian Miles Raonic. Murray needs to win to have a chance of making the semi-finals after losing to Japan’s Kei Nishikori. The 27 year-old Scot battled back from back surgery to qualify for the final event of the year and has stated his intention to come back fighting next season.

Jessica Ennis-Hill has announced she is aiming to defend her Olympic heptathlon title at Rio 2016. The 28 year-old missed the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow as she gave birth to her first child in July. She has recently returned to training and believes she will be ready in time for the Rio games.
