Ayrshire band Biffy Clyro will lead an all-Scottish line up, including indie rockers Idlewild and Honeyblood. The performance will be Biffy Clyro’s only live performance this year, having told several media
sources that 2015 will be the band’s “year off” as they work on a follow-up release to their 2013
album Opposites. The band last headlined the Hogmanay in 2010.
In a statement, the Biffy Clyro said, “We want to rock off the cobwebs and prepare for the year of da biff. Nothing can compete with Edinburgh’s celebrations and we hope to make it a special night for
everyone.”
Supporting the headliners are two bands nominated for this year’s Scottish Album of the Year
Awards; Idlewild, who were longlisted for their seventh studio album Everything Ever Written, and
Honeyblood whose eponymous debut was shortlisted.
Tickets for the concert, hosted beneath the Edinburgh Castle, will go on sale this Friday 25
September, at 10am. (EdinburghsHogmanay.com)
