After his greatly-anticipated arrival in the U.S. yesterday, Pope Francis has begun his tour of America.

This morning saw President Obama welcome the Pontifice to the White House for an official reception.

Later at 11.30 he led a prayer service at St. Matthews Cathedral with U.S. bishops.

This evening at 4:15 p.m  Pope Francis will hold a canonization Mass in Spanish for 25,000 ticket holders at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. It will be the first-ever canonization Mass on U.S. soil.

The Pope’s official schedule can be found here.
