Police Appeal for Missing Teenager

shanice-romanienkoPolice in Edinburgh have issued an appeal to trace a missing teenager who was last seen at Waverley Station on Monday 27th September.

Shanice Romanienko, from Lancashire, travelled to Edinburgh on Sunday where she checked into the Premier Inn on Princes Street.

The 17-year-old was last seen around 9.15pm and has not been in contact with anyone since, with concern growing  for her welfare.

Inspector David Cuthbert said: “Shanice does not know Edinburgh but is a confident young woman and is happy to travel on her own.

“We are pursuing various lines of inquiry around the city to find Shanice and anyone who believes they have seen her, or who has information that can assist with our investigation, is asked to contact police immediately.

“Officers are also exploring the possibility that she may have travelled back down to the Lancashire area and we are currently liaising with colleagues at British Transport Police, as well Lancashire and Greater Manchester Police, in case she is now no longer within Edinburgh.

“I would also ask that Shanice get in touch with a family member, friend or with police as soon as possible to let us know that she is safe.”

Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101.
