The line-up for Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Street Party has been announced today.

Indie veterans Maximo Park will headline the Waverley Stage. Elsewhere there will be sets from punk duo Slaves, Glasgow band White and folk ensemble Rura.

Last month it was revealed that Biffy Clyro will headline the three day long festival in their only live UK performance of the year, supported by Honeyblood and Idlewild. Biffy’s set at the flagship Concert in the Gardens is already sold out, but Street Party goers had to wait until today to purchase their tickets.

Previous Street Party acts have included big names such as Twin Atlantic, Mark Ronson and Chvrches.

Last year the three day festival saw almost 150 000 revellers buy tickets to bring in the bells, and 2015 looks set to continue this success. This year’s extravaganza promises an updated experience, with additional arena space and a new stage to accompany what has become one of the world’s largest New Year parties.

For the first time in 16 years some of the celebrations will take place on the Royal Mile, following crowd congestion issues last year. Over 4000 ticket holders will take part in the new open-air ceilidh on the Mile.

The line-up announcements come alongside the news that Edinburgh’s Christmas and Hogmanay budgets are due to be slashed next year. Currently the festivities cost around £1.3 million annually, but cuts to the 2016/2017 budget could be as much as £500 000.
