Hearts host Celtic tonight as the two sides face off for a place in the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup.

The holders travel to Tynecastle having won nine of the last ten meetings between the sides, with the last encounter ending in a 0-0 draw at Celtic Park last month.

Their last victory came in the 2012 Scottish Cup semi-final, when Craig Beattie’s late penalty set the Jambos well on the road to lifting the trophy.

Juwon Oshaniwa could return for the home side after missing Saturday’s win over Ross County through injury, while Gavin Reilly and Blazej Augustyn are also likely to feature. However, Alim Ozturk and Soufian El Hassnaoui remain out.

Celtic’s Charlie Mulgrew and James Forrest have missed recent games through injury and they are likely to remain on the sidelines.

Hearts goalkeeper Neil Alexander says the game is the standout tie of the round.

“You always look for the big games in the calendar and no disrespect to other teams in the league but, when the fixtures come out, Celtic is the one you look for,” he said.

“Obviously we got drawn against them twice in cups last year and again this year so we are used to it now.

“It’s the quarter-final of the Cup so everything to play for and obviously at home with a packed Tynecastle and the fans behind us. That place can be intimidating for teams who come so hopefully we can use that to our advantage.”
