The Scottish Poetry Library has been officially reopened following a £500,000 revamp.
Culture Secretary Fiona Hislop and National Poet of Scotland Liz Lochhead reopened the library, situated just off the Royal Mile.
The library contains over 45,000 books, and has been upgraded to include new soundproof recording stages so that poetry can be recorded as well as written.
It will open to the public on Thursday.
