Prisoners Set For Work Placements In Edinburgh Hospitals

Jack Brodie

PRISONERS will be given work placements in Edinburgh hospitals to boost their employment prospects.

The scheme will see non-violent felons who are nearing the end of their sentences be put into work placements across hospitals in NHS Lothian.

It will allow ex-convicts to upkeep roles within a work environment, as they will undertake catering jobs and run errands for staff.

As well as providing those involved with vital experience and the chance to enhance skills there is also a possibility of further work within the NHS if the placements are a success.
