High air pollution warning issued in London

Westminster is one of the most affected areas by air pollution.

London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan has declared a “public health emergency” over the next three days due to pollution.

Air pollution has reached high levels in central parts of London, especially Westminster and the Square Mile. He also rose the pollution levels to “moderate” in 17 boroughs of the capital.

The levels of toxicity are expected to lower by Friday, returning back to normal. The mayor predicts that some of the busiest roads in the central London will suffer from “high pollution.”

Mr Khan said to the Independent: “We will continue to use all the technology at our disposal to inform Londoners about levels of air pollution in their neighbourhoods.”
