Johnson: Countries ‘queuing up’ for post-Brexit trade deals

Boris Johnson has claimed in his article in the Daily Telegraph that “we will be able to do new free trade deals with countries around the world.” He would go on to state that  “they are already queuing up.”

This comes on the back of Theresa May’s support for a seemingly hard Brexit, where she stated in yesterday’s speech that Britain would indeed have to leave the single market as a result of Brexit. Stating that instead the UK will push for a new “comprehensive free trade agreement” in order to give the country “the greatest possible access” to the single market.

Meanwhile in Scotland, First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, has claimed that this move to leave the single market, makes a second Scottish independence referendum very likely.
