Edinburgh tram enquiry: update

The Edinburgh Tram enquiry continues today with evidence being heard by former TIE construction firm chairman David Mackay as the fallout over the building of the transport network rumbles on.

Mr Mackay told the enquiry that Edinburgh was “the laughing stock of Scotland, if not the world”. The former chairman was in charge of overseeing the project from 2006 to 2010 after he handed in his resignation.

It comes after increased hostility over the production of the Edinburgh Tram network. The enquiry is expected to reveal a variety of short comings in the development of the Capitals unique transport link with around six million electronic documents obtained for the investigation.
