This year Edinburgh will be bolstering its lineup of world-renowned festivities with ‘Christmas at the Botanics.’

Edinburgh’s Royal Botanic Gardens is gearing up for what looks to be an impressive display of lights for their outdoor show, which takes place after-dark which is a rare treat for visitors.

‘Christmas at the Botanics’ is a brand new event celebrating the festive season, and follows the success of a similar event last year.

Behind the show’s artistic direction are lighting designers, Simon Hayes and Kate Bonney, who are bringing brand-new installations to Scotland to rival successful Berlin and London events.

Heather Jackson, Director of Enterprise at RBGE says: “Christmas at the Botanics will be our most ambitious event of the year. This is such a magical time for everyone.

“We look forward to welcoming visitors in after dark to delight in the magic of Christmas at the Garden.

“Visitors can follow the path through the enchanting Crystal Lawn, enjoy the mesmerising scented Fire Garden, and listen to the sounds of the Choir of the Trees.”

The event is being organised by Raymond Gubbay Ltd, who have been responsible for successful light shows in Kew Gardens, Blenheim Palace and the Berlin Botanic Gardens.

“The Botanics is one of Edinburgh’s most iconic venues, but getting to create a new, magical trail, through the gardens is incredible and we’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone this Christmas.”

The event opens Friday 24th November 4:40 pm (last entry 8pm), at Royal Botanics Garden, Edinburgh.  Tickets and prices on Royal Botanics Garden website.
