A yellow weather warning is in place for much of the country with a snow and ice warning for a number of other areas, however, it does not seem that Edinburgh will be too badly impacted. Despite this, forecasters have warned to expect the occasional snow shower or flurry throughout the day.

While it snowed for much of the early morning, much of it has turned to rain and is expected to be clear by 11am. According to the Met Office, sunny intervals will continue for of the day, however, drivers early forecasts predict that there will be a snow/sleet shower at around 5pm.

It is thought that this will fall as snow on higher grounds but should clear by 6pm with some cloud coverage and low temperatures.
