US stocks turn positive in volatile climate

Volatility in the US stock markets has seen shares fluctuate.

The markets opened low this morning with The Dow Jones Industrial Average falling 108.2 points, or 0.43%, to 24,804.57 points after gaining almost 2% yesterday.

The S&P 500 lost 8.22 points, or 0.3% to 2,686.92, while the Nasdaq dropped 22.22 points, or 0.31%, to 7,093.66.

After starting low at just a 2% gain from yesterday, The Dow Jones has turned positive.

The Dow Jones started the day low but was up by 100 points after a few hours.

The Dow and S&P 500 capped off their worst weekly performance in two years on Friday after a strong jobs report sent interest rates higher. The decline on Wall Street peaked on Monday, with the Dow plummeting 1,175 points as investors pulled out in the wake of higher rates.

On Tuesday, the 30-stock index swung 1,167.5 points before closing 567 points higher.
