Heriot-Watt University to open Dubai complex

Heriot-Watt University is set to relocate its 4,000 students studying in the United Arab Emirates to a new state-of-the-art complex in Dubai.

The proposed move will take place in 2021 as the university has agreed a 10-year lease for a 218,000 sq ft campus in Dubai Knowledge Park.

The Edinburgh-based University say the building will deliver “the latest innovations in business education, teaching and research”.

The new facility in Dubai will bring in money for the university and use no UK taxpayer’s income towards its building costs.

The principal and vice-chairman of the university outlined his ambition for this new project, labelling it “the largest, most comprehensive and successful international university in the United Arab Emirates.”
